About UsActive Minds was established in 2005 with the goal of making students better learners in response to parents who were looking for personal and individualised coaching that students didn't always receive in a standard classroom setting. We focus on not only the content that students need but also the skills and confidence that will move students forward in their learning. For us, academic coaching is not about competing with classroom teaching but rather complementing what is happening in the classroom to build confident learners who achieve better results, higher test scores and gain improved academic standing.
Peter Drew is the principal coach at Active Minds and has over fifteen years’ experience in education, teaching across primary and secondary contexts in both day and boarding schools. Peter is a strong proponent of lifelong learning and has a BA in Classics and History from UQ, a Bachelor of Education from QUT, a Bachelor of Theology from SCD, a Masters in Educational Leadership from ACU, a Masters in Educational Studies and a Masters in Theology from UoN and is currently studying a Masters of Information Studies from CSU. |
