NAPLAN ReadinessOur three-step NAPLAN readiness program is designed to increase confidence and lower anxiety to improve student outcomes.
Step 1 is designed to drill the curriculum concepts that underpin the various questions required on each of the exams. This step has a focus of consolidating the knowledge and understandings required for each specific stage of the NAPLAN process. At Step 2 we build on students’ knowledge and understanding by working on the techniques and strategies required to answer different types of questions. This step draws on educational psychology, emphasising the principles of reasoning to approach difficult or unfamiliar topics that can be applied to any test question. Once students have an understanding of content and strategies, the emphasis moves to building confidence in Step 3. This involves the assigning of practice tests and introducing the pressure of mock testing. This is a critical tool for optimising NAPLAN test scores as it allows students to understand how test knowledge and test strategies work together to increase results. |
